Technical Procurement and Materials Management


We are seeking an experienced, organised and analytical individual to join our dynamic Technical Asset Management team. They will have responsibility for setting up a procurement system for new purchase aircraft and lease transitions, with a view to leading a future team of supply chain professionals.


Primary duties will include:

  • Driving procurement initiatives within Technical Asset Management and cross functionally
  • Setting up appropriate PO issue and administration systems
  • Setting up appropriate payment approval systems
  • Working with OEMs, Vendors and MROs to administer material purchases
  • Managing a BFE/SFE programme with major airframe OEMs
  • Administering and disposing of surplus materials
  • Ensuring the system is developed to support the changing needs of the business
  • Contributing to the recruitment of additional resources as required
  • Selecting, contracting and working with third party service providers as required
  • Overseeing the training and development of additions to the purchasing team
  • Managing risks and meeting supply deadlines to ensure no delivery delays due to material supply
  • Holding one-on-one support meetings with team members
  • Allocating responsibility for tasks and ad hoc queries (external and internal) as they arise and monitoring progress
  • Validating and authorising Purchasing activities in accordance with Goshawk processes
  • Working to establish a world-class procurement operating platform


Working cross functionally with:

  • CTO on the aircraft purchase programme
  • Corporate Finance on budgeting for purchases
  • Legal for the negotiation of supply contracts
  • Contract Management for the administration of contracts
  • Strategy and Portfolio
  • Management for modelling requirements


Competencies & Experience

  • Experience in Airline Operations, Airline Procurement and Purchasing or Aircraft Leasing is essential, preferably in purchasing or materials Management
  • Experience leading a team is desirable but not essential
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and oral)
  • A considered approach to problem solving
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate, meet deadlines and escalate issues
  • Ability to create and maintain excellent relationships with key external and internal Goshawk teams
  • Great attention to detail with strong numeracy skills
  • A positive team approach, capable of working on own initiative
  • Process-oriented but with a flexible approach
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
